I wish to invite EVERYONE to participate in a very, very special CAL starting next week Tuesday, March 22nd. It’s called “Friends Around the World 2015/16 CAL”.
This CAL is to celebrate our Facebook group’s 1 year Anniversary!!! Can you believe it? We’ve been together a whole year?!? We’ve come a long way in that year! I’ve all met so many new people along this journey and I’m honored to say they’ve become dear friends as well! I know I’m not alone and this is the inspiration behind this CAL – to honor our members and new friendships and to say thank you to you all!
We’ve been blessed that our new designer friends have generously created simple, elegant squares for us. They are designed with a beginner in mind and some will teach us new stitches and techniques.
This CAL is a great way to try out your favorite designers’ new pattern, discover new designers, learn to read the many design styles and even interpret a graph. There is something for everyone in this CAL!
The designers names are a secret for now, just know this is indeed a star studded cast of designers that you all know and love! All the contributors have made a huge impact not only on our group, but also in our crochet community. Plus, some of our admins have taken that first tentative design step so as to leave our ever so humble mark on this special project.
We will be making 12″ squares and pattern(s) will be released weekly. Once all the squares are released, there will be one week for joining and another for the border. All patterns will be translated into various languages by our wonderful team of translators for even greater sharing!
The squares can be made in one or more colors and it could even be a stash buster. Look for an update post in the next day or so for more details!!
